THE DIPLOMA OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE STUDIES(TD/04)

The Diploma of English Language Studies is a 2-semester course for pre-experience and working teachers of English as a Second Language. The course is consits of the following components:

THE THEORY AND PRACTICE OF TESOL -

A detailed study of all areas of TESOL-Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. The course modules cover basic concepts as well as advanced topics such as Examination Courses, Course Planning, Syllabus Design and Grammar.

 ENGLISH LITERATURE

Student are guided through the most important literary works of the English Language. This section of the course involves reading assignments, composition writing, analyses and research. The subjects/periods covered include: Literary Criticism,  An Overview of Approaches, Literary Terms, The Old  English Period, Historical Background, The Old English Period- Epic Poems, The Renaissance, The  17th& 18th Century , The Romantic Period,The Victorian Age, The 20th Century.
